Luke secures Formula 2 slot for remainder of 2024

Rising star Luke Browning will graduate to FIA Formula 2 for the remainder of the 2024 season after inking a deal to join ART Grand Prix.

The Williams Academy-backed driver will make his debut in the series this weekend on the streets of Baku, before taking in the events at the Losail circuit in Qatar and at Yas Marina.

Luke moves up to Formula 2 on the back of a strong second season in FIA F3, where he finished third in the standings on the back of wins in Bahrain and Austria.

The deal will see the former British F4 and GB3 title winner join forces with one of the most successful teams in Junior Formula racing, having taken drivers including Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Nico Rosberg and Jules Bianchi to championship titles.

The team also won the F2 title last year with current IndyCar racer Théo Pourchaire.

“I’m really grateful to have the opportunity to make the move up to Formula 2 for the final rounds of the season on the back of a successful season in Formula 3,” Luke said.

“Having finished third in the F3 standings this season, moving up to F2 in 2025 would be the logical next step in my career, and it will be great to gain experience of the car over the next three meetings as I work towards that goal.”
