Sunday told a completely different story. After another difficult qualifying left him starting P21, Luke and Kondo Racing opted for a bold alternative strategy — one that would ultimately define the race.
Managing his tyres expertly, Luke extended his stint far longer than most of the field, showing remarkable consistency and control. As others pitted earlier, he climbed through the order and, at one stage, was effectively leading the race.
Running at a pace comparable — and at times superior — to those behind, he maintained track position deep into the final laps before making his mandatory pit stop just before the end.
The strategy paid off: Rejoining in P4, Luke completed a remarkable comeback from the back of the grid, securing his first points in Super Formula and one of the standout performances of the weekend.
