Miami delivered something a little different for Luke this weekend.
While Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz prepared for the race at the Miami International Autodrome, Luke made the trip stateside for a week that put the focus squarely on the fans.
The Williams Fan Zone returned for Miami, this time as part of the Racing Fan Fest at Wynwood Marketplace, a five-day festival celebrating motorsport culture in one of America's most vibrant neighbourhoods.
Taking the stage
Luke took to the stage on Thursday 30 April, with his Q&A kicking off at 4:45pm EDT. Joining him that evening were Team Principal James Vowles and Williams Ambassador Damon Hill, making it one of the most packed fan evenings of the season so far.
The Q&A, held live in front of fans at Wynwood Marketplace, covered Luke's season so far: from his Super Formula debut at Motegi to his role within the Williams setup. You can watch the full session via the Williams website here.
More than just a stage appearance
The Fan Zone itself offered plenty beyond the Q&A.
Fans could get up close to the FW48 show car, take on the Barclays pit stop challenge, experience Komatsu's haul truck simulator, and race around the Miami International Autodrome on state-of-the-art simulators in the gaming zone.
For Luke, events like these are a core part of what the reserve driver role involves, representing the team, connecting with fans, and being part of the Williams world beyond the pit lane.
