Luke announced as Reserve Driver for Atlassian Williams F1 Team

Luke is set to embark on an exciting new chapter in his motorsport career this year, as he becomes Reserve Driver for Atlassian Williams F1 Team.
It marks another milestone in his progression through the Grove outfit’s Driver Academy, having first joined in 2023 before climbing the single seater ladder through Formula 3 and Formula 2 prior to starting this new opportunity.
As Reserve, Luke will play an important role in their aim of returning to the front of the grid as F1 enters an all-new regulations era. In addition to race weekend stand-by duties, Luke will continue to help develop the car through data analysis and simulator work.
Alongside his Reserve Driver duties, the 23-year-old will also race in Super Formula, driving for Kondo Racing in the 12-race series.
This dual role will see Luke continue to gain valuable experience behind the wheel, as he embarks on a 12-race campaign in Super Formula — widely considered to be the pinnacle of single-seater racing in Asia and the second-fastest series in the world behind Formula 1.
Looking ahead to what’s in store with over the next 12 months, Luke said:
“I’m incredibly excited to be stepping up as a Reserve Driver with Atlassian Williams F1 this year. The Academy has been instrumental in my growth, supporting me through both Formula 3 and Formula 2 while giving me the chance to get up to speed with modern F1 machinery through testing and FP1 sessions, I look forward to working alongside Alex and Carlos to drive the team forward in this new rules era for Formula 1.
“I’m also happy to confirm 2026 will be my rookie season in Super Formula. This will be a completely new challenge, and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in! As my next step up towards a full-time Formula 1 seat, this gives me another chance to show how I've developed on track and continue to build my skills in a new environment and culture.”
