After a two month break, Super Formula returns this weekend!
Luke will continue his Super Formula campaign as the next stop on the calendar takes us to Fuji Speedway.
After a long gap in the season, Luke will be wanting to make the most out of his trip to Oyama.
A changed weekend structure
Fuji was originally scheduled to host a double-header weekend, however, the event now features three races following the rescheduling of Round 3 from Autopolis. Heavy rain left the original race being abandoned after just one lap behind the safety car.
The replacement race will take place on Sunday morning as a shortened 25 lap sprint with no mandatory pit stops and reduced championship points on offer.
Alongside the additional race, Fuji will still host its two scheduled full distance races across the weekend with one on Saturday and one on Sunday.
The revised triple-header schedule creates a demanding weekend for dLuke, giving him the opportunity to score more points and continue building experience In his rookie campaign.
Previous outings
Fuji Speedway is a circuit where Luke has yet to compete in a championship race, although he has previously gained experience here in testing.
He participated in mid-season testing at the circuit at the end of June following an FP1 session for Atlassian Williams Formula 1 Team. The experience at the track has helped the rookie build familiarity ahead of the race weekend.
Track focus
Set against the picturesque backdrop of Mount Fuji, the 4.563km circuit combines a variety of corners and one of the longest straights in motorsport.
The 1.5km main straight gives drivers a chance to reach incredible top speeds before heavily braking into turn one. This gives drivers one of their biggest opportunities for overtakes.
Beyond the straight, Fuji offers a mix of challenging and fast corners, and technical hairpins before arriving at the tight final sector where precision is essential.
What to look forward to this weekend:
- A newly added Sprint race - Three chances to score points - Major overtaking opportunities on the main straight - A true test of speed and precision
The circuit rewards confidence, the fast corners demand commitment while the technical final sector can make or break each lap.

With a strong start to his Super Formula journey, Luke will be looking to continue adding to his current 16 point tally.
