Luke’s F2 Championship hopes came to an end in Qatar after a tricky weekend saw him leave with one more point added to his tally.
After Qualifying P18, the 23-year-old Brit had an uphill battle in both the Sprint and Feature Race if he wanted to score points.
In the 23-lap Sprint, progress was tough and Luke eventually had to settle for P17 in a race that was all about tyre management.
For the Feature Race, strategic options were open thanks to the mandatory stop, with Luke opting to run the alternative strategy – starting on the harder compound, running long into the race before fitting the softer compound for a late charge.
Luke had a clean getaway, and by the time those running the more traditional soft-to-hard strategy had stopped, he found himself in the top five.

The Hitech TGR cars were clearly kinder on their tyres than those around them, as Luke was able to make a pair of moves to take P3, whilst teammate Dino Beganovic – also on the alternate strategy – was able to open up the gap at the front.
What would help both was a Safety Car intervention towards the closing laps, allowing them to take a cheaper stop and return at the sharp end fully in the fight.
The Safety Car would make an appearance, however it came midway through the race – not allowing Luke to take full advantage.
Opting to stay out, it was a short SC deployment and the pack hadn’t bunched right up. Luke, now in P2, could keep extending with the lower points-paying positions very much up for grabs.
When Luke did stop at the end of Lap 29, he rejoined in P10 – securing one more point to his 2025 tally.
