The curtain is set to come down on the 2025 Formula 2 campaign, as Luke heads to Abu Dhabi for his final race weekend of 2025.
He’ll be looking to end the season on a high, and add to an impressive tally of 162 points from the first 13 rounds of the year.
And with an upcoming FP1 stint in Atlassian Williams Racing’s FW47 to throw into the mix, the 23-year-old is in line for an action-packed few days at the Yas Marina Circuit.

The state of play

Luke will bookend his visit to Abu Dhabi by taking part in two separate sessions with Williams.
The Cheshire native is set to participate in his third Free Practice of the year when he pilots Alex Albon’s FW47 on Friday, before getting involved in the Young Driver Test after the Grand Prix has concluded in Yas Island.
It’s back to the usual business of Formula 2 in between those sessions, as Luke bids to finish as high as possible in the Drivers’ Standings.
He can’t quite catch leader Leonardo Fornaroli at the summit, but second place remains within reach — if he can out perform Jak Crawford and Richard Verschoor this weekend.
The duo are tied on 170 points as things stand, which is just eight ahead of Luke’s 162 with 39 points still up for grabs.

Previous stints in Abu Dhabi

Luke can lean on previous experience at the Yas Marina Circuit, when he takes to the track for Round 14.
The Williams Racing Driver Academy member took part in the 2024 F2 season finale at the Middle Eastern venue while driving for ART Grand Prix — and even put points on the board by finishing P6 in the Sprint.
He couldn’t quite match that in the Feature Race, though, so will be hoping to improve on a P15 finish this time around.
And that’s not his only experience in Abu Dhabi. Luke also completed 22 laps in Williams’ FW46 during FP1 there last year, as well as a further 105 laps in the 2024 Young Driver Test.

Track talk

With first-class facilities and unique features, there’s plenty to like about the Yas Marina Circuit — especially since recent upgrades to the track.
Higher speeds and more wheel-to-wheel racing will certainly be welcomed by spectators in attendance this weekend, as they enjoy an intriguing finale to the F2 season.
A lap of the 5.281 km (3.281 miles) circuit kicks off with a short burst around four corners in Sector 1, before heading into the tight hairpin of Sector 2.
Luke will then charge down a pair of straights, navigating a tight chicane after the first and a left-hand hairpin following the second.
Sector 3 is perhaps the most visually impactful, as cars twist past the city’s Marina and the illuminated Yas Hotel, to bring the lap to a close.

Race times

Free Practice is due to get started at 11.05am GST on Friday, ahead of Qualifying at 3pm.
Saturday’s Sprint then begins at 4.15pm, prior to the Feature Race at 1.15pm GST on Sunday.
Don’t forget to check out Luke’s FP1 session with Williams, too. That gets underway on Friday at 1.30pm GST.
