Luke Browning will make his debut at the iconic Goodwood Festival of Speed this summer, taking on the famous hillclimb with Williams.
The Atlassian Williams F1 Team Reserve Driver is part of a standout line-up for the 2026 event, joining 1996 World Champion Damon Hill, Team Principal James Vowles, and Ambassador Jamie Chadwick behind the wheel of the legendary FW18.
For Luke, it marks a first appearance at one of motorsport’s most recognisable events – and a chance to drive one of the most dominant cars in Formula 1 history. The FW18, which carried Hill to the Drivers’ World Championship in 1996, won 12 of 16 races that season and helped secure the team’s eighth Constructors’ title.
“Well this is a bit of a dream,” Luke posted on Instagram. “Excited to be heading to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this summer to make my debut up the hill in the FW18.
“It was great to catch up with Damon in Japan following his Championship win in the FW18, so stepping into the driver’s seat will be incredibly special.”
The FW18 itself returns to action following an extensive restoration by Williams’ Heritage team, bringing the car back to its original 1996 specification – making Luke’s first run up the hill even more special.
The 2026 Festival will also celebrate the 30-year anniversary of Hill’s championship triumph, with the Brit set to be honoured across the weekend – adding even more history to an already landmark event.
