Luke Browning stands on the top step in Formula 2 for the very first time after a fine drive at Monza, converting his pole position into victory.
Having successfully navigated numerous Safety Car restarts, a long tyre stint, and constant DRS pressure, LB crossed the line first to add 25 points to his 2025 tally.
"It feels like a big one, that," he explained immediately after hopping out of the car.
"It's almost redemption for last year. We came here in Formula 3 six points off the championship lead and lost it with contact in the final race, so to come here, put it on pole, and then win it the following year – it feels like a hurdle cleared, even if it's just mental.
"Hitech did a fantastic job today. I love this place – the amount of fans out there, this place really is special.
"I think there's a stat that I've never lost a race from pole. In these pressure situations, I feel I’ve got that final step to deliver when it’s there – but that’s only possible with a team like Hitech getting the best out of me.
"A massive thank you to the people around me. It’s all about the support network and Williams. This is the start of the second half of the season, so let’s get it!
"[I want to] continue the good form. Formula 2 is so competitive – just because we had a good weekend here doesn’t mean it will be easy next time. The competition is fierce, so to win like I did today is a big confidence boost, and I’m sure it will be for everyone around me too."
