Luke Browning will be behind the wheel for another Formula 1 Free Practice 1 session for the first time in 2026 at the Austrian Grand Prix.
The British driver was scheduled to make his latest appearance at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya however unexpected circumstances left him unable to leave the garage due to technical issues. Browning and the team quickly shifted their focus on ensuring he would be back in the car in the following weeks.
Ahead of his Austrian FP1 outing, LB travelled to the Circuits of the Americas in Austin, Texas to complete a TPC (testing of previous car) programme with Williams. The test gave Luke valuable mileage in Formula 1 machinery to continue developing his understanding of procedures and tyre management while working closely with the Williams engineers.
The Red Bull Ring now offers another important opportunity to gain experience in Formula 1’s current machinery. With the sports technical regulations continually evolving, each opportunity behind the wheel is crucial for a young driver targeting a full time Formula 1 seat.
Luke's latest Formula 1 opportunity comes amid a strong start to his Super Formula campaign, where he has demonstrated impressive adaptability between different circuits and cars. Together, with his growing responsibilities within the Williams Formula 1 programme, the experience is helping to shape a more complete driver as he continues his progression towards the highest level of motorsport.
