Luke is feeling positive about his chances of success at the Baku City Circuit, following an eventful day of racing in Azerbaijan’s capital.
The 23-year-old placed P4 in Free Practice, before registering a P6 finish in a curtailed Qualifying — leaving him well positioned to make an impact across the remainder of Round 12.
And our Hitech TGR racer was pleased with his car’s performance on Friday, ahead of tomorrow’s Sprint and Sunday’s main event.
“We looked quite good, I think,” said Luke, when speaking to FIAFormula2.com after Free Practice.
“The first lap out there we had a good gap, the first lap was over a second quicker than everybody else, so that felt nice around this low grip street circuit.
“We seemed to be quick throughout the rest of the session. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a lap on the second run, so I didn’t manage to improve when everybody else did.
“But the car was fantastic today, Hitech did a great job.”
Luke also discussed the 2025 season more broadly, as he reflected on the reasons behind his impressive campaign to date.
“Honestly, I think a lot of it is down to the cohesiveness of how we are working together,” he explained.
“I think we all feel connected, the guys have put a great car down, and me and Dino [Beganovic] are working on ourselves a lot between each event, and that’s where you are seeing the progression come from.”
