Luke Browning returned to the cockpit of the FW48 on Friday morning, completing his second FP1 session of the 2026 season at the Italian Grand Prix.

Taking over Alex Albon's car for the opening hour at the iconic Monza circuit, the Atlassian Williams F1 Team Reserve Driver continued to build valuable experience in the latest generation Formula 1 machinery.

The session was interrupted early by a stoppage for Colton Herta, with a Virtual Safety Car followed by a red flag, but running resumed to allow Luke to work through the planned programme alongside Carlos Sainz.

Luke steadily built his pace throughout the session, working through the tyre range before setting his best time of 1:24.740 on the soft tyre, placing him P15 at the chequered flag.

“It was great to be back out in FP1 for the second time this season. I've got some fond memories of this circuit from F2 - winning the feature race and taking pole position here.

“Today's main job was giving the team feedback and testing some setup options for Alex, which went well and should put him and the team in a good place for the rest of the weekend.

“As always, I'm very grateful to the team for the opportunity to get back out there in the FW48.”
