It’s been over a month since Luke last took to the track with Hitech TGR, so he’ll be itching to get behind the wheel once again in Monza.
The 23-year-old’s previous outing was back in the first weekend of August, when he put 12 more points on the board after placing fourth at the Hungaroring.
Our Williams Driver Academy racer will now look to build on that performance, as the action moves to northern Italy for Round 11 of the campaign.

The state of play

Luke is currently 29 points behind leader Leonardo Fornaroli in the F2 Drivers’ Standings, but remains confident of catching the Invicta Racing driver.
The Cheshire native suggested as much in a recent interview with Fiaformula2.com, when he said:
“Let's just see how it comes to us. We are not getting ahead of ourselves, the team is doing a great job, and the Championship is well within our reach.
“I think it's the tightest year Formula 2 has ever had, in terms of Qualifying and the points split, it's incredibly tight.
“I am looking forward to pushing on now, getting more experience in the car and going back to tracks that I have already driven before.”
You can find more of Luke’s pre-Monza thoughts here.
He sits in fourth spot on 125 points as things stand, within touching distance of third-place Richard Verschoor (135) and Jak Crawford in second (137).
And with a total of 39 points available across this weekend, the standings could look very different by the time we wrap things up in Lombardy.

Previous stints in Monza

Luke has a degree of familiarity with the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, having raced there in both 2023 and 2024.
Those visits were while he was competing in Formula 3 with Hitech Pulse-Eight, and yielded mixed results over the two Sprints and Feature Races.
But Luke’s Sprint performance last season was a highlight, as he placed P6 to add five more points to his total and claim an 11th haul of the year.
It meant he scored points at every round in 2024, to ultimately finish the campaign in third place.

Track talk

The historic Autodromo Nazionale Monza has been hosting races since 1922, when it became the third purpose-built track in the world to be constructed.
It featured in the inaugural 1950 World Championship, too — and has continued to thrill motorsport fans through the years, with high-speed racing a guarantee at this heritage venue.
Monza is known as the ‘Temple of Speed’ and for good reason, as the fastest circuit currently on the calendar.
Long straights and tight chicanes are the order of the day, across this 5.793 km (3.6 miles) track that features 11 turns.
With drivers typically on full throttle for most of each lap, a test of power certainly lies in store for Luke over the coming days.

Race times

Free Practice is due to begin at 11am CEST tomorrow (Friday), prior to Qualifying at 3.55pm.
Saturday’s Sprint Race will then get underway at 2.15pm, before the Feature Race on Sunday at 9.45am CEST.
