Luke will get his first taste of Super Formula action tomorrow, when he takes to the track for the competition’s Joint Test in Suzuka.
The event offers our British driver the opportunity to get a feel for Kondo Racing’s Dallara SF23, ahead of the season’s maiden race in April.
And the 24-year-old is set to be joined by a whole of other drivers from across the grid from Wednesday 25th - Thursday 26th February, as anticipation for the upcoming campaign continues to build.
So who exactly will be joining Luke in Mie Prefecture — and for 12 rounds of racing in 2026?
Perhaps we should look at last year’s success stories, first and foremost.
Docomo Team Dandelion Racing won the 2025 Constructors’ Championship after amassing an impressive 215 points, with Kakunoshin Ohta and Tadasuke Makino representing the Kameoka-based outfit.
The duo finished third and fourth, respectively, in the Drivers’ Standings, so Dandelion Racing will be delighted that they are both returning for this season.
They’ll each have designs on top spot, of course, as will Ayumu Iwasa — the winner of last season’s Drivers’ Championship.
He’s back with Team Mugen (second in the Constructors’ Championship), alongside fourth-place finisher Tadasuke Makino.
Completing the 2025 podium was Sho Tsuboi, who is surely determined to go one better this time around after finishing second.
That also applies to his team, with Vantelin Team TOM'S placing third. Argentine racer Sacha Fenestraz is the other driver in their line-up, as he was in 2025.
Elsewhere, historic names like Ponos Nakajima Racing (four-time team champions and four driver championships) and Sanki Vertex Partners Cerumo・Inging (three team championships and two driver successes) are back again for next season.
The former have Ren Sato and Igor Omura Fraga behind the wheel, while Sena Sakaguchi and Toshiki Oyu are in line to represent Cerumo・Inging.
Other notable drivers include former Williams F1 Team Driver Academy member Zak O'Sullivan at Wecars Impul with SDG, and former W Series female driver Juju Noda at Hazama Ando Triple Tree Racing.
And don’t forget that Luke is linking up with an experienced Super Formula racer this term, with Ukyo Sasahara joining the Kondo Racing team. You can find out more about his career to date here.
